Evolution, NetEnt’s owners, remains committed to fair online play in virtual casinos

Millions of players flock to online casinos every year to try their luck, hoping for a big win. Indeed, in the United Kingdom alone, there were 30.2m active user accounts with licensed online operators in 2018. Those players collectively held about £901m in their accounts from 2014 to 2019. The industry is a lucrative one, in other words, and players are willing to spend quite a bit of money on their favourite games as they chase that elusive victory. They do this with the assumption that the online operator with which they are playing is transparent and honest about its practices to create a fair environment that enables users to succeed.

Unfortunately, not every player will have the good fortune to experience virtual casinos with high standards. Some casinos ensure the odds favour the house by much more than is usual, leaving players at a distinct and unexpected disadvantage. Others allow exploits to be used to cheat the system. Some, however, maintain good communication and honesty when it comes to their operations and ensure that users have a level playing field against both the house and their fellow gamblers. Evolution is an operator that goes out of its way to create a competitive and transparent player experience.

Evolution values open communication and honesty in its online casinos

In a recent interview, Evolution’s Director of Game Integrity and Risk, Tania Johannisson, discussed the company’s desire to create the best gaming environment possible. She explained that the industry is more than just a career source – it’s a passion: “Myself and my team consider serving the industry in this way as being more than a job, it is something we have a real passion for, and such acknowledgements are, therefore, extra special.

This sentiment is echoed in every response Johannisson gave as she continued to offer information about the joy of learning something new every day. With that said, there are also some serious issues facing the online gambling sector upon which she touches. She believes the most significant threat is the company’s innovation: “Innovative game titles launched by EVO have disrupted the game protection vertical as new products bring new challenges. There is no available solution to justify the success of the new game, and there are no books to read on how to protect the game as we are the ones building it.

Johannisson concluded by reaffirming the company’s commitment to creating secure games that offer players a fair and balanced chance of a big win.
