PokerStars Review
StarCoins: PokerStars own currency and just one way the casino stands out from the crowded online casino marketplace. You have to work a little for your first deposit bonus at the casino, earning it as you play but, while it may be a little tricky to get your head around at first, the bundles of €10 wager-free cash that you get make it all worthwhile. Slots were added in 2015 and PokerStars are always keen to make their site bigger and better, and they’re more than happy to take loyal players along for the ride.

About Pokerstars
PokerStars are a casino with plenty of experience. While this may have been gleaned primarily from a poker focussed-site in the past, we have no doubt they’re up to scratch with ‘casino’ now too. They don’t have the largest selection of games available, but they have hand-picked their favourite NetEnt slots to suit the customer base, and we’re sure live casino and jackpot slots will be along shortly. If you’re after somewhere a little bit unique, PokerStars could be a great choice- they have their own currency ‘StarCoins’ and an innovative way of releasing bonuses and working out wagering requirements.
Pokerstars Website
PokerStars website is simple and easy to find your way around. Three tabs front and centre provide players with easy access to the three separate sections of the site; poker, casino and sport. Sections are well labelled so you can skip from slots to card and table games, to live casino and multi-player games and back again, and games are sorted into scrolling boxes so you aren’t faced with a mass of thumbnails at first glance.
When it comes to gameplay itself, you have two options: instant play on the PokerStars site itself or you can download and play- the choice is yours. The promotions section is clearly marked and updated regularly, so you’ll usually find something happening that you can sink your teeth into.[show_more]
Games On Offer
PokerStars have only recently added a casino selection, having previously focussed on (you guessed it- Poker!). They offer games from a range of games providers including several of the most popular NetEnt slots, like Starburst, Twin Spin, Jack and the Beanstalk and Jack Hammer. If you’re a table games enthusiast there is plenty to keep you occupied at PokerStars too; with roulette, blackjack and a host of other table games to pick from. We would hope to see more NetEnt slots- including jackpot slots- added in future.
Trustworthiness Of Pokerstars
PokerStars as a casino have been in the industry, making a name for themselves as a safe, trustworthy place to play for a while now, and we have no reason to expect that their recent inclusion of casino games will change that. They hold a well-respected licence, offer 24-hour customer support and are keen to enhance this service further- stating that they intend to add live chat in the near future.
Just like most of the top casinos, PokerStars make full use of the latest in SSL Encryption technology to ensure that any private details you share with them remain completely secure, and they offer deposits through a range of the most trusted payment methods including Bank Transfer, Visa, Skrill, Neteller and Entropay.
Why You Should Try Pokerstars
Offering 24 hour customer service, a European Gaming Licence and a small, but perfectly formed, selection of NetEnt slots, there are plenty of reasons to sign up at PokerStars. If you also love Poker and are partially to placing the occasional sports bet, you’ll struggle to find a better place to do all three- all tied up in a neat and easy to navigate site package. PokerStars also offer regular promotions and weekly challenges, giving players plenty of reasons to come back once they’ve signed up.
Pokerstars Bonus
Pokerstars is obviously known for their poker and table games, there’s few in the industry that rival them on these fronts. However, lesser is known about the Pokerstars bonuses. Well, good job this review is here to fill you in on the details. And, you’ll be glad to know that they have a sizeable welcome bonus for their newest customers.
At Pokerstars you can get a welcome package made up of free spins and a bonus, which is a nice double whammy from these poker freaks. When you sign up and make your first deposit, you’ll get a bonus of 200% up to $500 and 10 free spins. This is a pretty large bonus amount from a very reputable company, so it’s worth checking out their site and making the most of it – you can find the link to the bonus at the bottom of this page.
Is There A Pokerstars Bonus Code?
Pokerstars bonus codes are hard to come by. They’re not a site that often likes to generate them. Instead, they just like to set up their bonuses to be for everyone, which is great really: you don’t have to spend time searching for a code, and then be denied it if you get the wrong one. Because of this, Pokerstars instead offer a welcome bonus that is very competitive.
Frequently asked Questions
Is Online Poker Legal?
It’s a question that comes up time and again on the internet – is it legal to play online poker? First of all, the crucial part of whether playing online poker is legal or not depends on your location. Each country has different rules regarding the legality of online poker, in fact that goes for the entire online gambling industry! In some areas it’s perfectly legal – just log on, find your favourite poker game and play. For others, it’s a lot more complicated than that.
The most often searched variation of this question is something along the lines of: is online poker illegal in the US? Domestically, it depends by state – with Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey all regulating online poker in 2013. Internationally, the US often tries to block foreign gambling websites.
Essentially, online poker’s legality varies from country to country – so you need to complete your own research to be sure.
What Poker Variations Can I Play at PokerStars?
Once you actually get around to playing the game of poker then you’re really in for a treat – this isn’t a game that commands millions of players across the globe for no reason! If you’re new to poker, then you’ll probably just be aware of one version – Texas Hold’em. However, there are plenty more to enjoy, with PokerStars offering a whole selection. Let’s take you through them.
Texas Hold’em
Ever since televised poker became a thing, the most popular version by far is Texas Hold’em. Each player is dealt 2 cards face down and betting begins. If there are still players in the round, 3 cards are then dealt, then another, and a final card completes the deck. In-between each deals, betting ensues. The object of the game is to create the best 5-card combination using the total 7 cards available.
Head on over to PokerStars using the link below to choose between many types of Texas Hold’em bet limits and for more information.
Omaha
Derived from Texas Hold’em (but with a few crucial differences) is Omaha. Each player starts with 4 cards face down and the above method of 5 cards overall is dealt face up if required. However, in Omaha you must use just 2 out of your 4 personal cards and then 3 of the face up cards to complete your 5-card combination. Again, betting ensues in-between each deal.
There are variations of Omaha on PokerStars for you to choose, with Omaha Hi/Lo, 5-Card, and 5-Card Hi/Lo available. Each game comes with a guide from PokerStars to get you up to speed before you begin.
Seven Card Stud
As you may have guessed from the name, Seven Card Stud sees each player dealt a total of 7 hands throughout the course of a round. A predetermined ante is given by all players to enter the round before a card is even dealt. After this takes place, 7 cards are dealt to each individual player over the course of 5 instances with betting occurring in-between. Whoever has the best 5-card hand then takes the pot.
Like Omaha, PokerStars offers standard Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo, and Razz (Seven Card Stud Low). Head on over using the link below to check it out.
HORSE
A very popular poker game to choose from is HORSE – or Hold’em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Razz, Seven Card Stud and Eight-or-better (Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo). Each round that you play takes on a different variation, therefore it is an excellent way of practising the different types of poker in one game.
PokerStars offers HORSE to their players, allowing you to sharpen your overall skills to perfection.
