Deuces Wild Double Up Video Poker Game Tutorial

As a single player video poker game Deuces Wild Double Up can be played with 1, 5, 10 or 25 hands, with various adjustable bet levels and with various coin values. The special game features of the game are the Deuces Wild cards, that substitute for all other cards to make winning poker hand combinations and the Double Up gamble feature with which up to 5 times players can gamble to double their game round winnings. In this tutorial (for explanatory reasons) we explain the game play of the 1 hand version of Jacks or Better Double Up.

As based on the original poker card game players need to form ‘poker hands’ out of 5 dealt cards. However, all 4 ‘deuces’ (the 2s) in the 52 card deck the game is played with (and that’s shuffled every time before cards are dealt) can substitute for all other cards to complete or better a poker hand.

Deuces Wild Double Up poker Hands

The winning poker hands used in Deuces Wild Double Up video poker are (in order from most to least value):

  • Natural Royal Flush: A, K, Q, J, 10 from the same suit.

Deuces Wild Double Up Video Poker Bet Limits

As stated in Deuces Wild Double Up video poker both the bet level as well as the coin value to play with can be adjusted. You can choose from a bet level from 1 up to 5 and coin values (in the 1 hand version) of 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, 1 euro, 2 euros, 5 euros, and 10 euros. The bet level represents the amount of coins that is wagered on each hand. Therefore the minimum and maximum bet of the 1 hand version of video poker Deuces Wild Double Up can be calculated as follows:

Minimum bet: bet level 1 x coin value 10 cents = 0.10 euro
Maximum bet: bet level 5 x coin value of 10 euro = 50 euros

Note: the minimum and maximum possible bet per game round depends on the amount of hands (1, 5, 10 or 25) with which is played.

Pay Table / Win Plan

The values of each poker hand in Deuces Wild Double Up (the amount of coins the hands are worth) can be found in the pay table of the game. In the 1 hand version the pay table is displayed in the center of your screen and in the multiple hands versions it can be displayed at will by clicking the PAYTABLE button (on the right-hand side of the screen). The pay table shows (from left to right) what a certain poker hand will pay out (coin value x a certain multiplier) on the bet levels 1 up to 5.

On the left-hand side of the play screen the table after each game round shows which and how many times one or more poker hands are formed and how many coins they will pay according to the bet level that was played on. When playing the 1 hand version the table will logically always show 1 x the poker hand coin value but when playing multiple hand versions of the game various poker hands simultaneously can be formed that each have to pay out their poker hand value in coins.
The highest valued poker hand In Deuces Wild Double Up video poker is a Natural Royal Flush, in which ‘natural’ stands for ‘without a Deuces Wild being part of the hand’. This poker hand will pay out coin value x 4000 when the game round was played on the highest bet level. The poker hand with the least value is Kings or Better that will pay out coin value x 1 when played on the lowest level.

Deuces Wild Double Up Video Poker Manual

Playing video poker Deuces Wild Double Up starts by adjusting the game rounds configurations such as setting the amount of hands that are played with per round, the bet level (amount of coins wagered) and the coin value.

These settings can be adjusted by clicking on the arrows on either sides of the HANDS, LEVEL and COIN VALUE displays. Note: as soon as BET LEVEL is adjusted the values depicted in the two pay tables are adjusted too.

When starting a game round by clicking the MIDDLE ROUND BUTTON 5 cards are dealt to the player. If right away a poker hand can be formed, the cards making part of the hand will automatically be held. If no cards are automatically held the player must choose (by clicking on them) which cards must be kept (clicking again will deselect held cards).

By subsequently clicking the middle button again the ‘draw’ will take place, which means all cards that weren’t held are replaced for new cards to form the final hand.

After the draw the pay table on the left-hand side will show which hand(s) how many times were formed and how many coins they will each pay out according to the bet level that was played with. The eventual payout therefore is the amount of poker hands formed x their value in coins x the coin value.

Video poker Deuces Wild Double Up has the Double Up special game feature with which a player can double a game round winning up to 5 times. After a winning game round the GAMBLE button can be clicked, after which the Double Up feature will open. The player is dealt 5 cards face-down and needs to guess, by clicking the red or black button, which color the next card will be. If the player guessed right, the winnings are doubled and this can be repeated another 4 times. If however the player is wrong all winnings are lost. The player can stop the Double Up feature whenever desired, collect the winnings and return to the main game.
